Finca Oná, a natural reserve in El Quetazal, San Marcos, Guatemala, is a mountainous region known for its variety of microclimates. Established in 1860 by Gideon
Hawley, Finca Oná remains a family-owned business, but its priorities have progressed to include Rainforest Alliance certification and membership with the Association of Private Natural Reserves of Guatemala. Cultivated between 2,500 and 4,000 feet above sea level, this estate coffee from Finca Oná reflects the company's desire to make this historic growing region a place that values sustainability, innovation and community progress. As a result, Oná operates an onsite medical clinic, which offers medication and routine services, generates power using its own hydroelectric plant, and promotes research through a collaboration with the University of Valle de Guatemala, the Agri-Lab Laboratory and the Soils and Plants Laboratory of the National Coffee Association.
